Lord Ganesha always loved sweets, especially the modaks and laddoos, and this auspicious event was celebrated with much devotion. These sweets are commonly described and served as prasad, naivenya, or bhog to Lord Ganesha. This celebration lasts for 10 days. The delicacies such as besan laddoo, Kaju Barfi, halwas, modak, pure poli, raw laddoo, etc are doubled automatically when you prepare and serve them.
During the Ganapathi Chaturthi celebration, a traditional Indian sweet dumpling prepared with rice flour dough and stuffed with coconut and jaggery is mainly served to Lord Ganesha. Modaks are often steamed with a steamer, but they can also be made by frying or baking. Check out how to make Ganesh Chaturthi Special Modak.
